ABOUT US
I am Layana, a Brazilian fashion stylist, entrepreneur, and environmentalist living in Australia. I created Swap-a-Porter to change the way fashion is consumed and disposed of. The change I want to see is people reusing clothes that already exist instead of buying new ones. I say it’s possible to achieve because I was one of these people who used to buy fast fashion because it is cheaper. However, my mindset flipped when I realised the potential of second-hand clothes once I saw a charity bin in Australia for the first time. I no longer needed to wear the latest trends to look stylish or fashionable. If I changed, many other people can change. By wearing second-hand we get better quality and it is also sustainable since we are recycling clothes and extending their lifecycle. My mission is to show people all the untapped value of preloved clothes through a virtual swap experience that is convenient, fun, and free.
